Bad Girl, Bad Girl

Watcha gonna do? Buy more yarn!

Consolation yarn.

I'm cruising to my not so LYS today to pick up some Silky Wool so I can get started on this awesome pattern. I've got the air cranked, and I'm listening to Mystic River on audio tape to take my mind off the fact that this trip will take three hours (between the drive and the shopping) of quality knitting time out of my Sunday afternoon. I am so in the zone.

And traveling 83mph in a 70mph zone. So not the zone I wanted to be in. Somehow, I'm thinking the patrolman who pulled me over would not be sympathetic when, in answer to his question "Are we in a hurry today?" I said "Why yes, Officer. The sooner I make my purchases and get my ass back home, the sooner I can get back to my knitting!"

My friend Terrisa (not a knitter) said to me at lunch yesterday, "Can I be honest? Your knitting thing? Kinda over the top!"

She may be on to something.

ok. ignore terrissa. really.

on second thought, you really don't have to ignore her just find a knitting friend so you have a sidekick. every outlaw needs a sidekick.

glad to know i'm not the only person that will drive for to the not so lys just for yarn. looks like a nice haul, now i'm jealous. enjoy!

Hey, I got a ticket the other day, TOO! Not something I'm particularly proud of, but I just wanted you to know I feel your pain. I told my husband I'm gonna stop driving for a while. At least i could get more knitting time in. Too bad he wasn't into hiring me a chauffeur.

kendall:

Terrissa just hasn't found her passion in life. When she finds her all consuming passion she will be as crazy about it as you are about your knitting.

Hmm. . . law-breaking knitters. I see a new webring forming. . . .

That is so funny! My non-knitting friend Melinda came over not too long ago and she looked on my shelves and in my family room and tells me "uh...don't you think you have enough knitting stuff already?" but then I took her to the guest room and opened the closet (where my secret stash is (my husband NEVER goes in there because he thinks it's old linens/photo albums, etc. and I have the doors blocked with my huge treadmill that I NEVER use (sadly enough for my big thighs but I digress)and Melinda screeched! Literally - and then told me that she was slightly "concerned" and that no one other than a large retail store needed that much yarn and that she thinks I need a 12 step program!!..lol

Luckily the hubster was in the garage with her hubster because I almost tackled her to the ground to gag her before she alerted the hubster of my secret stash!! To this day my secret is still solid...my biggest fear? The day he finds the stash, analyzes the amount of $$ these things have cost and cuts me off...GASP!!

Hoping that never happens!

PS: too bad you don't live in Broward/Dade county, Fl...my husband is a cop, might have been able to help ya out there :-)
