Mmmm...black-eyed peas and cornbread. Reminds me of my childhood. Do you guys do the thing where you have to leave 3 black-eyed peas on your plate for good luck in the coming year?

Your culinery tradition for New Yrs looks the same as mine there! Hope you have a great 2006. Funny about the 3 peas. My grandmother always said you have to eat ALL the peas or you will have back luck!

My family came from OK and we had black eyed peas and cornbread on New Year's Day also. I never heard of leaving the three peas but I would make my children eat at least two peas as they didn't care for them. I just had some again this evening. Yummy!
