I love to learn new things. I would consider myself a perpetual student of life. There are, however, things I never expected to learn about myself. Apparently, if I go by the spam waiting for moderation when I get home from work each day, I am an overweight, middle-aged, balding man with erectile dysfunction. I would also appear to be financially challenged, since I need to buy my drugs cheap. Never would have thought it, but there you go.
I have also learned that I suffer from a rebound effect with my knitting. I can become extremely focused for brief periods of time, and accomplish great feats of knitting. Witness Ene. Love Ene. Now, however, I am having difficulty focusing on any one project. I want to start another lace project (I'm thinking The Forest Path Stole) but I have my Bloomin' Feet socks deadline coming up. My lack of focus is creating some psychological distress. Apparently overweight, middle-aged, balding men with erectile dysfunction don't handle stress well. But I am forging ahead.
I have a cuff. And I have several inches. I just don't have an erection.

Geez. I get those emails, too. Offers to enhance body parts that I just don't have. LOL

I like what you did with that post - too funny. I've decided that - since I can't take a whole day anytime soon - tonight is my mental health night, dedicated entirely to startitis and other random knitting. 20 min of this, 10 rows of that . . .

I have to tell you ...I am still laughing several minutes after reading your post. Thanks. I needed that. :)
I am having trouble focusing lately too. Maybe it's something in the air. Are we breathing the same air by chance? Good luck with that erection thingy. ;)

I *heart* this post! Witty and funny complete with wee wee jokes (I'm afraid if I write the correct anatomical word for the object you'll get lotsa weird Google hits and may even end up with emails for priapic issues). Uh huh...so moving on... I'm with you on the lack of focus. Mine however wasn't because of an intense period of knitting but a severe lack thereof. The socks look lovely! And the stole...you do know how to tempt a girl!

I'm so glad that we're all able to finally come out of the closet and talk about our collective erectile dysfunction issues! ;-) And to think, all this time I thought I was alone in my suffering. Your socks look wonderful so far! Take care, Leah! :-)

I think all the Olympic Knitters are suffering from some kind of post-traumatic stress disorder. I haven't figured out what my next project is either (the bedspread doesn't count). Sigh. Guess I should check my spam folder for a rememdy.

It's ok, Leah. I, too, recently learned something shocking. According to Netflix, I'm gay. Well, let me clarify, Joe and I together are gay. Apparently the combination of DVDs we put on our Netflix list leads it to think that we are a gay person. So we get all sorts of recommendations that never would have thought of. Fine by me- as long as we are a gay person with taste.

I'm so glad to know I'm not the ONLY female out there that is an overweight, middle aged, bald, male with erectile dysfunction in dire need of cheap drugs!! Oh and did I mention that the honorable King Subidubidu of Nirobi has found my long lost relative and wants to send me my inheritance of eleventymillion dollars if I will only pay them $10K to release my money????? Ain't the internet GRAND?? Oh well at least amongst all the BS we can find honest to goodness REAL folks just like us!!! Ha=ee Hee!
