Saturday Sky Part Four
I know knit bloggers who post come rain, or sleet, or dark of night. Knit bloggers I much admire who not only blog but prodigiously knit through corneal erosions, transcontinental/transatlantic moves, medical school, design school and North American book tours.
So if you want to call me a wiener because I can't knit, spin, blog and quit a job all at the same time, I will humbly accept the sobriquet.
Because quit my job I have, and next to marriage and having children, I think it's probably been one of the biggest decisions I have made in my life. I've been with this same company for twelve years (longer than I've ever been married, come to think of it). I kind of feel like I am leaving family, as well as the position. The only person I won't miss is the Unhappy Woman. She is, in fact, the reason I even started putting out feelers in the first place; one of which hooked a wonderful offer which I couldn't refuse. This of course has made the Unhappy Woman even more unhappy because I am going on to something so much better. And in an odd sort of way, I have her to thank.
Don't you love Karma?
While there hasn't been much knitting going on, what with the quitting and preparing for the new job (not to mention the hell of a sinus infection in which minions of Satan have invaded my right maxillary sinus cavity and are attempting to bore their way out with red hot pokers, and the two huge bruises on each side of my arse from the honkin' antibiotic shots I received the past two days), don't think there hasn't been some fiber therapy to help me through the transition.
The "OMG I just resigned from my job of twelve years, but bigger salary equals more yarn!" fiber therapy! The third and seventh skeins received in trade from Amanda, and as of yet she has nothing to show for it, but she will soon, and I promise to tuck in some extra goodies to make it worth the wait!

STR (the new and improved cr*ck)!
The “When I get my life back I am going to make up for some lost spinning time.†fiber therapy! The first two bunches of roving also received from Amanda in trade and the above caveat still applies (and Amanda just rocks my crazy world because she is such a wonderful and patient friend)!

Luxurious pencil roving from CMF.
The “What little bit of knitting time I do have I am going to spend knitting with fiber and a pattern I really like.†fiber therapy! (From the “I don't always knit exactly what I want, but that's about the change.†school of knitting)!

Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock in Vera
Conwy from Knitting on the Road
And finally, the “I owe some people sock bags, and I have cut them out and will commence with the sewing forthwith.†fiber therapy!

And now's the time to let me know if you have a color preference.

Woo hoo! There is some yummy stash enhancement there!
I wish you all the best in yoru new job. I hope you are getting some time off before you have to start. I dream of quitting mine all the time. Except I don't wish to replace it with another one. ;)
As for the fabrics.... there is a LOT of fabric there! All so pretty. I would like a bag in each color please. :)

Ditto to the Woo hoo! That is the "whole enchilada" to stash enhancement - good for you!
FAB fabrics! How are you going to fashion the sock bags?
Good luck with the new job!

Congratulations, first of all. A huge change like that can be so disruptive (and cause a stress reaction... sorry, I had to go there) but I'm so glad that you have something positive to look forward to. And I'll say this: when you need fiber therapy, you go all out. Those pictures are amazing... great fabrics- you always choose the happiest colors!

I can be patient because I know your June and July has been as disruptive as mine. Life upheaval is hard so I totally understand the need for all the fiber therapy -- enjoy without guilt my dear!

I love your comment about the "Unhappy Woman", I've met one or two of those in my time.
Congrats on the new job. If you ask me, change is always a good thing, way too many people fall into the security trap. It's important to take those risks, so glad you decided to!!
Also, love the Yarn, Rovings, Fabric and that sock OMG--GREAT colours!

Congrats on the new job!! And doesn't it give you just the "tiniest" bit of satisfacation knowing unhappy woman is INSANELY jealous of you getting a better job and leaving her? Hee! Hee! I left a job of right at 20 years to quit and try to make a go with my own business.....now THERE's some stress!! Despite numerous gray hairs it has been fine so far and I'm sure it will be for you too! Your sky shot is AWSOME and best I have seen by far!! LOVE all the yarn....don't worry, your knitting MoJo will be back in full force soon!

I *heart* the Vera colorway- it's one of my fave's from LL.
Congrats on finding a new job! And on getting the toxic woman out of your life. The best thing about new jobs is the new possibilities. You don't know what it holds, but it will be a new experience. And more money for more yarn is ALWAYS a perk!

Hooray for Changes!!! Isn't is a wonderful feeling to know that you're taking charge of your destiny. And isn't it wonderful to know that the negative affect that Unhappy Woman had on your life has inspired a positive result?! I'm so happy for you.
And of course so happy for your stash enhancement! heh That's the best way to reward yourself and celebrate changes. :)

Great Stash! I love the STR picture --It had me comparing your colors to mine--It made me want to get on line and order the sherbert --I don't have that one.
I also really like the way your vera sock is coming out. I have that yarn --I pick it up often admire it but haven't gotten around to casting on with it. Maybe this is the incentive.
Can't watit to see that pencil roving all spun up
Take care,

Leah, what's the name of the blue CMF fiber? Is it "Blue Suede Shoes"--must have ALL the colors . . . .
Seriously, their superwash is freakin' awesome.

Not sure if you are still doing the Amazing Lace? I'm here at the direction of our hosts. Latest instruction during this pit stop is to visit 5 Lacers alphabetically after our own. You are my number 3 :)
I'm a new "knitter of holes on purpose" - this lace knitting is addicting. Fun to stretch my newbie knitting needles. Only knitting again since December 05 and not much of a knitter before then ;)
Hope your fiber therapy is going well!!

Oh wow... congrats on the job move. I'm sure it took a lot of thinking AND courage.. but yay for the new stash! That pencil roving looks suspiciously like "fiber crack" to me... careful you don't get addicted *grin*
Sock bags? Did I miss something here? Your fabric is gorgeous too!

Hooray for new jobs! I hope you're getting a little time off between leaving the old one and starting the new one? That's key.
I hope your new job is everything you're hoping and more and that it leaves you plenty of time for your fiber additions as well!
