Sick people scare me.
Today was one of those days when reality reared back and slapped me upside the head and asked me “What in the hell do you think you are doing?" This guy came in with this funky heart condition which has required getting it "shocked back into rhythm” in the past, and oh, by the way, “my heart feels kind of funny”, and all of a sudden my heart is feeling kind of funny and I’m desperately longing for a run-of-the-mill sinus infection or allergy sufferer.
It’s always a bit of a shock to be reminded of how little you know verses how much there is to know. It’s a good thing, but humbling non-the-less.
On top of that, I’ve lost the knitting bug. My sister, a severe allergy sufferer, used to sit on the couch and snuffle and snort and there would be these piles of tissues strewn around her like snowdrifts.
I feel like that. I woke up a week ago with a clear head and drifts of yarn around me and absolutely no desire to knit.

Luckily, previous stitching bugs have infected me in the past, and they have cute patterns too.

Well, your cross-stitch is lovely. Oh, and I'm not good with sick people, either, which makes me admire people in the health-care profession that much more!

Don't give away the yarn just yet, you may just get the knitting bug again, even if it takes a little while. I have gone for a couple of years without the urge to knit....but that has been quite some time. You don't always understand the whys of things, but nature has a way of making things work out.
I used to cross stitch and always enjoyed working with all the different colors of threads and it was interesting watching the picture transform. I bet your backs of pieces are just as pretty as the fronts if I know you...

I'm not sure how I feel about you being scared by sick people, LOL. Enjoying whatever handcraft inspires you at the moment is the key to being content.

Don't be afraid! It's not catching. I have the same heart problem (but it's under control at the moment). Whether you knit or stitch it's doing something wonderful with your hands.

We do whatever makes up happy, right? Right now it's sewing for me, for the most part.

Yay! Cross stitch! I think enjoying lots of different materials has something to do with a multiplicity of talents.

I used to stitch a lot. There's something about all that floss and the cute patterns that draws me in, but the needles are easy for me to lose and sitting on them hurts more than sitting on my knitting.
Nice pattern and floss - can you share information?

Your cross stitch is lovely - I wonder if all of us go through waves of craft hobbies? I have at least 6 huge tubs of quilt fabric in storage, and I cannot bear to part with it yet.

I'm proof that the knitting mojo does come back, just give it time. The cross stitching is beautiful.
Sick people scare me too. Esp the sick, rashy kind of people. Yuck.

I think knitting desire can go in waves. (At least it does for me.) Your cross stitch project looks really great!
